Two dozen people have been arrested in what officials are calling the biggest gun bust in Brooklyn's history.

Eric Gonzalez, the borough's acting district attorney, and the NYPD say the group bought more than 200 weapons in Virginia and resold them throughout various Brooklyn neighborhoods.

The DA says most of the defendants were from Virginia, and used the money they made to fund lavish lifestyles.

He said the 627-count indictment should send a clear message.

"To those looking for profit by selling illegal guns, we don't care where you live. We will find you. We will charge you. And we will bring you to New York," Gonzalez said.

"It also underscores how important and strong the NYPD's working relationship is with our state and federal partners in law enforcement. I talk about this all the time. There is no way we can do this alone."

Investigators say they used video and physical surveillance during an operation that began back in June.

The seized guns included 41 assault weapons.
