The man accused of gunning down a correction officer in Brooklyn last year is arraigned on murder charges.
Prosecutors say 35-year-old Keon Richmond shot and killed his 24 year-old ex-girlfriend Alastasia Bryan last December.
He's also facing two criminal weapons possession charges and could spend up to 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
Investigators say Bryan was sitting in her car, about to head to work on Rikers Island, when Richmond opened fire.
24-year-old Shirley Mejia was also indicted for allegedly helping cover up the murder.
Prosecutors say Richmond fled in a car owned by Mejia, who paid to have it stored at a mechanic’s shop in New Jersey.
Mejia faces up to seven years in prison.
