Lyft is taking advantage of outrage against its big rival after Uber came under fire for continuing to make pickups at JFK Airports this weekend.
Lyft says it will give a million dollars to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) over the next four years in the wake of President Trump's new travel restrictions.
The company says it stands against Trump's executive order, and is donating the money to help the ACLU defend detainees.
As the president's executive order took effect Saturday, the New York Taxi Workers Alliance called for all drivers to refuse pickups from JFK Airport as a form of protest against the detainments.
#DeleteUber has been trending after Uber then continued to make pickups at the airport and was even touting the fact that it was offering a break from its surge pricing.
Uber has since announced the creation of a $3 million defense fund to help drivers who may be affected by the travel ban.
