People on Staten Island gathered to protest a number of President Trump's executive orders.
Immigration activists and community members rallied in Port Richmond last night.
They say the President's actions unfairly target immigrants, and contradict American values.
"Spreading hate will only put more fuel in to the fire," said one protester. "What we must do is that we must work together as communities, as we are together today. Muslims, Latinos, Europeans, Africans, people of all origins coming together because we believe in the same causes."
"Being that the administration just started and all these changes are happening now, my concern is that people are not going to be treated fairly," said another. "That's my main concern."
The Council on American-Islamic Relations has also condemned Trump's ban on refugees coming from mostly Muslim countries, saying the ban is based on bigotry, not reality.
