ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- A Rochester bakery affected by a fire last month says it will not be open in time for Christmas. Genesee Bakery and Deli says the entire store will need to be cleared out and rebuilt.
The fire at Mount Hope Plaza happened November 20th.
Genesee Bakery was forced to cancel nearly 100 orders for Thanksgiving.
The flames reportedly started at Jing-Li Chinese restaurant, where firefighters say a grease flare-up may be to blame.
The restaurant suffered significant damage, and surrounding businesses experienced with smoke and water damage. Some have since reopened.
While the bakery remains closed, owners posted an update on Facebook saying the store will "be rebuilt with a new look, but the same tradition that you have come to know. I know that we would not have been able to do this without each and every person that has offered prayers, support and words of encouragement."
