A New Brighton storefront is looking much brighter thanks to one local artist.

Mona Oman just finished painting this 150-foot long mural outside Gerardi's Farmers Market on Richmond Terrace.

She started working on the mural in July.

To fit with the theme of the market, Oman painted all kinds of flowers, including marigolds, sunflowers and daisies, on the exterior wall.

"It's kind of industrial around here, a little bit of grey and brown and so to add a lot of color to this area is really nice. And who doesn't like a flower? So this is my offering to my neighborhood and to Staten Island, in general," said Oman.

Oman says she's also working on a large-scale painting for the inside of the market.
