As testimony continued Tuesday in the Michael Beard murder trial, jurors heard testimony on many pieces of evidence, including DNA, blood, phone records and insurance.

Beard is accused of killing Kelley Clayton, after being hired by her husband Thomas Clayton.

The defense has admitted Beard was at the home, but only to burn it down so Thomas Clayton could claim the insurance money.

An insurance broker took the stand Thursday, testifying Thomas Clayton asked to increase his wife's life insurance policy in 2014 to $1 million.

Phone records from Beard and Thomas Clayton were also introduced, showing a call between the two, hours before Clayton's death.

Jurors also heard from a forensic scientist who testified she found no blood on Thomas Clayton's clothes. But she found a large amount on the shirt Beard was allegedly wearing.

An analyst says one blood swab taken at the scene contained Beard's DNA.

The defense argued it could have been from months or years prior, but the analyst says it was fresh.

The prosecution is expected to wrap up its case Wednesday.
