CHARLOTTE -- The remaining police body camera and dashcam footage of the Keith Scott shooting has been released to the public.

The videos were released to the media after Scott's family viewed the footage in its entirety.

Chief Kerr Putney released a portion of the video on the last weekend in September.

Scott's shooting sparked over a week of protests in the city, some of which turned violent.

After watching all of the body and dash camera footage from the deadly shooting, Scott’s family's attorneys say they're still questioning whether the shooting was justified.

"This is what happens as a result of officer-involved shootings and it's very important for law enforcement to use deadly force as a last resort and not a first resort because there's no pulling those bullets back,” said Justin Bamberg, Keith Scott family’s attorney.

Police say Scott had a gun and posed a threat but his family maintains he was not armed.

"There's nothing on any of these videos that would led a reasonable person to believe that Keith Scott was about to harm one of those officers. He was backing up,” said Charles Monnett, Keith Scott family’s attorney.

In the video, you hear officers asking Scott to drop a gun but the family's attorneys believe CMPD should have given Scott clearer directions before firing those fatal shots.

"Commands such as ‘put on the gun on the dashboard where we can see it, open your door slowly, come out with your hands up, back way from your car slowly,’ had they given him those step-by-step directions knowing they were dealing with someone with a brain injury we wouldn't be here and Keith would be alive,” said Monnett.

Meanwhile, Scott's funeral has been postponed due to inclement weather as South Carolina prepares for the possible effects of Hurricane Matthew.

His funeral was expected to take place Thursday morning on James Island, which is along the coast. Gov. Nikki Haley is expected to initiate an evacuation order for that area Wednesday.

It's not clear when the services will be rescheduled.
