The MTA has made good on its word to restore some express bus service on Staten Island.

3 rush hour X-12 buses were back on the road Monday between Staten Island and Manhattan.

This, after the agency cut service on the line earlier this month, citing a decrease in ridership.

Councilman Steven Matteo reached out the MTA after commuters complained of long lines and overcrowded buses.

He says he's happy to see the agency respond quickly.

"My commuters who already have a long commute and then especially at the tail end of the stops, and they can't get on the bus - that delays them getting to work by an hour," said Matteo.

Matteo says he is still asking the MTA to restore X-42 bus service.

The agency replaced 2 afternoon rush hour buses with 1 earlier this month.
