Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed a law that allows pets to be buried with their owners.
Under the rule, pet owners will need to get written consent from the cemetery and pay extra burial fees.
The law does not apply to cemeteries owned by religious organizations.
Cuomo says he approved the law because he wants to honor the last wishes of pet lovers.
