Authorities are investigating a 3-alarm fire in SoHo.
Flames broke out on the top floor of a building on Greene and Broome Streets just before 8 Tuesday night.
The Fire Department says it got the fire under control around 9:30.
One witness described the scene.
"It was pretty scary 'cause I was sitting in my living room and then I kind of smelled smoke and fire and I looked out the window and everyone was standing right on the sidewalk there and they were like screaming 'Get out, get out' and so I like ran down the fire — the stairwell as fast as I could," the witness said.
The Fire Department says four firefighters suffered minor injuries.
Two were taken to the hospital and two others were evaluated at the scene.
