One person was killed Wednesday after a double shooting in Binghamton.

Two men walked into a home at 1 Mozart Street where some type of confrontation happened, leading the suspect to shoot them both. One of the victims was killed, the other suffered a serious arm injury, but still managed to take down the suspect, choking him until he was unconscious.

The suspect was taken into custody shortly after the shooting.

Police say it was an isolated incident, and they don't believe their is cause for concern to surrounding neighbors.

"I'd just like to stress, this is not random attack. This is not a home invasion. We were told right off the bat by one of the individuals, that they all knew each other. So, this isn't  random act, showing up here or anything like that. But, we do not know what's behind it at this point," said Binghamton Police Chief Joseph Zikuski.

"Things don't happen like that over here. It's a quiet neighborhood. We rarely have an argument around here once in a while let alone something as terrifying as that," said Chase Healey, neighbor.

Both the suspect and the victim were taken to a nearby hospital for significant injuries but the suspect was not shot. Police have not yet released any names and the shooting remains on investigation.
