ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Supreme Court has affirmed the decision of a jury back in 2009.

An Elmira man is once again convicted of first degree gang assault.

Terrance Mack was the only person convicted in connection with the September 2007 death of Latasha Shaw.

Shaw was murdered near the corner of Dewey Avenue and Driving Park after coming to the aid of her then 12-year-old daughter.

Police said she was beaten and knifed to death during a mob attack.

Mack's 2009 conviction for hitting Shaw with a bottle had been overturned in 2014.  The appeal, again, affirmed that conviction.

The district attorney's office said Mack will continue to serve his original sentence.
