The long running host of the weekly syndicated public affairs show, “The McLaughlin Group” has died.
John McLauglin passed away Tuesday.
A cause of death has not been announced.
McLaughlin had been host of the program since it began in 1982 and did not miss a taping until this past weekend.
The show featured a group of commentators and covered the political stories of the week.
Born in Rhode Island in 1927, McLaughlin was a speech writer for President Nixon and an editor for the National Review before hosting the show.
John McLauglin was 89.
