A painting by Jean-Michel Basquiat set a new auction record for the late artist.
"Untitled, 1982" was sold at Christie's Tuesday night for more than $57 million.
The previous record for the Brooklyn-based artist was nearly $49 million.
The painting is more than 16 feet long and is considered a self-portrait.
Basquiat started as a graffiti artist in the late 1970s, and later moved on to neo-expressionist painting.
He died of a drug overdose in 1988 at age 27.
