Service on the 5 train is back with delays in the northern Bronx after a partial platform collapse.
Service between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street was suspended around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and resumed shortly before 6 a.m. Wednesday.
The city fire department says a platform that is under construction at Eastchester-Dyre Avenue shifted nearly a foot.
"We had a section of the platform come down, about a 20 to 40 foot section where they had been doing some work," said FDNY Chief Russell Regan. "They had some heavy equipment in the work area, so a portion of the platform came down."
No injuries were reported.
The MTA is investigating the collapse.
