Stephen Sambu and Molly Huddle won the 11th annual New York Road Runners Half Marathon on Sunday.
Sambu won the men's race, with a time of 1 hour, 1 minute and 16 seconds.
Huddle is the women's champion for the second straight year, finishing in 1 hour, 7 minutes and 41 seconds.
Thousands of runners laced up for the 13.1-mile race, which started in Central Park.
Participants made their way through Times Square and down the West Side Highway to end up near Wall Street in Lower Manhattan.
NY1 caught up with some of the athletes after they crossed the finish line.
"We're running for Chelsea, a little girl in our town, a 13-year-old girl in Oxford, Connecticut who had a transplant back in September at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and ended up developing lymphoma and is really our inspiration," one runner said.
