The city Department of Transportation says the St. George terminal of the Staten Island Ferry was briefly closed Wednesday due to what they called "NYPD action."
In a post to Twitter just after 6:15 p.m., the DOT said service was restored at both terminals.

Earlier, the DOT said all service outbound from St. George was suspended during the investigation.
The NYPD confirmed at the time that they were investigating for a suspicious package at the location.
The DOT said while service was suspended out of St. George, ferries continued to depart the Whitehall terminal in Manhattan, with passengers exiting on the lower level at St. George.
Due to NYPD action, St. George Terminal will be closed to #SIFerry passengers until further notice.
