Hundreds gathered in Brooklyn Sunday night to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah with the lighting of the world's largest menorah.

The 32-foot-high menorah located in Grand Army Plaza requires a cherry picker just to light the candles.

The menorah comes equipped with specially-designed glass chimneys to protect the lights from strong winds.

The lighting will happen every evening until next Monday night.
