The New York City Police Department is investigating an incident in which Brooklyn officers fired at two men who they say pulled a gun on them Tuesday night.

Police responded to a report that shots had been fired at East 92nd Street and Avenue B in East Flatbush around 5:30 p.m.

They arrived and found two men.

Officers said one of the two pulled a gun on them.

Police then opened fire, but didn't hit either of the men.

They say the man who had the gun ran off.

One man has been taken in for questioning.

Investigators say they recovered a gun at the scene.

Both officers were taken to Methodist hospital for tinnitus after hearing the loud gunshots.

They have since been released.
