The state approved a $350 million project to redevelop the historic Pier 57 in Hudson River Park.
The site is located at 15th Street and the West Side Highway.
Google is expected to be a major tenant in the new building, occupying 250,000 square feet.
The tech giant currently has more than 5,000 employees working nearby in and around the Chelsea Market.
Developers also signed a letter of intent with world-renowned chef Anthony Bourdain to construct a large public dining market on the pier’s main concourse and mezzanine.
The new facility will also include a rooftop public park and other outdoor areas, one will serve as a venue for the Tribeca Film Festival.
Construction is set to begin in the spring of 2016.
