NY1 Brooklyn Reporter Jeanine Ramirez was honored Thursday night in Mnahattan for her work in journalism by the National Hispanic Media Coalition.
She was given one of the inaugural New York Impact Awards for helping to contribute to the Latino community here in the city.
Jeanine has been with NY1 for 19 years, and as our Brooklyn Reporter is often covering issues within the Hispanic community.
"It is a honor to be included in such a prestigious group of Latinos who really give back to the city, in terms of community, in terms of culture, in terms of top notch journalism. And NY1 has always given me an outlet to really give the voice of the Puerto Rican community, Latino community, the Brooklyn community," Ramirez said.
Four other people, including reporters from WABC and Univision, were also honored as part of the ceremony.
