As the Mets prepare for Game 1 of the World Series in Kansas City Tuesday night, fans sent their support from home.
Mr. Met was among the crowd gathered for a rally outside Queens Borough Hall Monday afternoon.
Fans hoping for the Amazins’ first World Series championship since 1986 say this season is something special.
"’86 was great, and I was at the seventh game of the World Series, and that was great. This is a little bit better to me because that was great team. This team didn't look like they were going anywhere," one fan said.
"Mets in six, and the only reason I say that is because we've been clinching on the road. Mets in 6. Watch what I say," another fan said.
Queens native Governor Cuomo also called into to NY1 to brag about the team.
"It is so exciting for me now because I love all the New York teams,” Cuomo said. “They're like children, I love them all but the Mets have been special."
The Mets will send Matt Harvey to the mound for Game 1.
First pitch is set for just after 8 p.m. and Governor Cuomo says he will be there.
