Roadway reversals on the lower part of the Manhattan Bridge are officially over.
Starting Monday, traffic on the lower roadway will be Manhattan-bound only. Previously, that section was Brooklyn-bound from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Manhattan-bound at all other times.
The Department of Transportation said the changes will help make the road safer and less confusing for drivers.
There were more than 170 crashes on the bridge from 2009 to 2013.
The bridge's upper roadway will still travel in both directions.
