Pope Francis will be welcomed to New York with a larger-than-life mural.
The 225-foot-tall painting is being commissioned by DeSales Media Group, the communications and technology arm of the Diocese of Brooklyn.
It's going up on the corner of 34th Street and Eighth Avenue, right by Madison Square Garden, which is where Pope Francis will deliver mass on September 25.
For those involved, it's been a joy to be part of the historic visit.
"I'm very honored to be able to be a part of this. I think it's very relevant and important for the city, and for the entire world, really," said painter David Osborne.
"I never realized that I would be designing something so important and so big. So I think this is beyond my imagination," said Israel Ochoa, a graphic designer at DeSales Media Group.
The four painters working on the project expect to finish the mural by the beginning of next week.
