Helicopter tours may soon be a thing of the past in the city as a new City Council bill reportedly would ground them for good.
According to the Daily News, Brooklyn City Councilman Carlos Menchaca is drafting the measure following complaints from some residents that the choppers are too noisy.
But the tour companies say they have taken steps to reduce noise pollution.
They also say the tour business employs hundreds of people and adds millions to the city economy.
The bill would not affect chartered or private helicopter flights, though it's not clear why they would be exempt.
