For the first time ever, the MTA is allowing New Yorkers to get behind the controls of a subway train - well, sort of.
The Second Avenue Subway Simulator is a new virtual experience that takes visitors through the tunnels of the MTA's proposed Second Avenue subway line.
Operators drive the train to 96th, 86th and 72nd Streets, and your score depends on the mood of your passengers.
Overshooting platforms or accelerating and stopping abruptly may anger them, and lower your score.
However, you can earn points by stopping at red lights, and opening and closing the right doors at subway stops.
If you want to check out the simulator, visit the MTA's Information Center on Second Avenue between 84th and 85th Streets.
