Port Authority police arrested 20-year-old Claudio Duran after police say Duran bypassed a security checkpoint at Terminal 8 around 6 a.m.
Authorities say witnesses saw Duran run through an exit door at Gate 37 before getting restrained by a pilot.
According to police, Duran arrived at the airport in a white 2014 Isuzu truck.
The truck was reported stolen in Manhattan two hours earlier.
Police say Duran was in possession of the truck's keys when he was arrested.
