A Brooklyn man is facing charges after prosecutors say he threatened City Councilman Vincent Ignizio.
John DePietro was arraigned Thursday on charges of making terroristic threats and aggravated harassment.
According to law enforcement officials, DePietro made a phone call on Monday afternoon to a Staten Island community board in which he said, "Ignizio took my house - I'm going to shoot him."
Prosecutors are linking the incident to the 2007 city demolition of a home that once sat across from P.S. 6 in Richmond Valley in the Republican minority leader's City Council district. City records show the property is owned by by DePietro.
DePietro was released on $1,000 bail.
