It was on March 12, 2020 that the city declared a state of emergency.

Then-Mayor Bill de Blasio said the coronavirus outbreak “could easily be a six-month crisis” and the state had banned gatherings of more than 500 people.

Christina Farrell, the first deputy commissioner of NYC Emergency Management, joined “News All Day” on Wednesday with a look back on the past five years since COVID-19 was declared an emergency.
