“Giving Tuesday” is a day meant to encourage people around the world to contribute to charitable causes.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been taking part in the efforts, with the launch of “Giving Machines” for the seventh year. This year, the red vending machines also made their first-ever appearance in Times Square.
Aaron Hall, one of the directors with the church, joined "News All Day" to discuss the initiative.
Giving Machine users can donate to national and local charities by purchasing from the machine.
Items include meals, groceries, clothing and even livestock. There are 61 Giving Machines across the globe.
The New York City Giving Machine is located at The Church of Our Savior at 59 Park Avenue at 38th Street.
