According to the National Institutes of Health, over 20% of U.S. adults live with some form of mental illness.
Dr. Paulette Ginsburg, a psychiatrist at Maimonides hospital, joins “News All Day” to talk more about this.
In response to the stress of world events, Dr. Ginsburg recommends pulling yourself away from the news and having a healthy relationship both with other people as well as with your phone.
To maintain your mental health, Ginsburg also recommends exercise, eating and sleeping well, limiting alcohol, practicing self-care, and connecting with your family, friends and communities.
Ginsburg hopes conversations like these can help destigmatize mental illness and break down barriers for people who are struggling.
