Patrick Swayze was an American icon who was known for his lead role in Dirty Dancing and Ghost.

His death from pancreatic cancer in 2009 shocked the world and after his passing, his wife became a staunch advocate in the fight against the disease.

Lisa Niemi Swayze will raise her voice at the PanCAN PurpleStride walk to end pancreatic cancer, an event that “News All Day” anchor, Ruschell Boone will host.

Swayze says that some of her late husband’s symptoms included pain in his stomach as well as yellowing eyes (jaundice). For others, symptoms can include pain in the back or unexplained weight loss.

She says what makes the disease difficult to diagnose is that symptoms can be different for each person.
