The Harlem Globetrotters are back in New York City as part of their 2025 World Tour.

The team will take over the Barclays Center Sunday, facing off against their rivals, the Washington Generals. The Globetrotters will be back in the city on Feb. 22 for another show at Madison Square Garden.

Despite the Harlem name, the team doesn’t spend much time in New York, but Julius "Zeus" McClurkin, a star player for the Globetrotters, told “Mornings On 1” Wednesday he always enjoys returning to the five boroughs.

“Oh, it's lovely. It's lovely. This is probably one of the cities where we're most recognizable because of our name,” he said. “So it's always cool anywhere I go, where I'm carrying a red, white and blue basketball, it takes people back to a happier time in their life—when they went to the game with their parents or with their grandparents, and they're telling me stories about Meadowlark Lemon and Curly Neal. And it's always cool to share a smile with them.”

McClurkin added that he also enjoys soaking in the culture of New York City when they visit.

“I've been here two days. I've already had two slices of pizza. Every day I go down, go to a local bodega, just like to enjoy the culture, and how you guys do things here,” he said.

And since the Globetrotters are known for their impressive basketball skills, it comes as no surprise that McClurkin holds several Guinness World Records.

“I'm a five-time Guinness World Record holder. My favorite world record is the most slam dunks in one minute. I made 16 dunks in one minute, and I had to go behind the free throw line in between every attempt. So, I was gassed at the end of it,” he said.

As for what fans can expect at the shows this year, McClurkin says every show brings something new.

“It's a lot of improv, like a lot of times. We don't know what we're going to end up doing because we can't make this basketball go in the hoop at the end of the day. But one thing that we can control is our attitude and the fans' interaction,” he said. “So we're constantly coming up with new things. We're going to be coming up into the stands there at the Barclays and at MSG. We might, you know, eat your pizza right beside you and then make a trick shot a little bit later on. You really don’t know what you’re gonna see, but you know you’re gonna have a good time and enjoy yourself.”
