Analysts offered insights into the successful return of Donald Trump to the White House a day after he won the electoral vote.

Republican strategist Bill O’Reilly said strong support for Trump among women  became apparent early in the evening, and made him confidence that Trump could pull off a victory.

“What was clear—we talked yesterday about the incredible female turnout in vote, and a lot of those women were voting for Trump,” O’Reilly said in an interview on “Mornings On 1” Wednesday.  “And once you kind of saw that developing, you could see the trend.”

Shifts among Latino and Black voters, who the Associated Press reported moved in greater numbers toward Trump, also proved significant—something Democrats will likely look to address in future elections, another expert said.

“Democrats obviously have to think about the broad coalition that they’re building and why it doesn’t seem to be pushing them over the edge this election season,” Christina Greer, a political analyst and City College professor, said in an interview on “Mornings on 1.” “It looks like Republicans are going to win the House, the Senate and the presidency, but let’s be very clear…the vast majority of the people who are sending Donald Trump back to the White House are white women and white men.”

Greer pointed to longstanding voting patterns among white women, who again leaned Republican, despite reproductive rights and women’s autonomy being on the ballot.

“In the next few days or weeks, there will be some sort of scapegoating as to who was the problem in the Democratic Party,” Greer said. “But historically, white women have always been Republicans when it comes to the presidency.”

With Republicans expected to control Congress as well, Greer voiced concern about the potential impact of an unchecked GOP majority, calling it “frightening.”

“I think everything from our water and air to our education systems to our autonomy [are at risk],” she said.

O’Reilly also said Tesla CEO Elon Musk, whom Trump thanked in an early morning victory speech Wednesday, will influence the president-elect.

“Elon Musk is definitely walking in,” O’Reilly said. “I doubt that he takes a real position with the administration, but he clearly has a lot to do with President-elect Trump’s victory. So, yeah, I think he’s going to be around, and I think he’ll be one of Trump’s top advisers.”
