The City Council on Monday will hold its preliminary budget hearing on what could be cut from the Department of Education in the next fiscal year. The schools chancellor, David Banks, is among those expected to testify Monday.
Among the big-ticket items to be discussed during the meeting: Funding to reduce class size, the city’s preschool and 3-K programs and school lunches.
Rita Joseph, the chair of the City Council’s Education Committee, joined “Mornings On 1” Monday to explain what New Yorkers should expect out of the meeting.
