In “That’s So New York,” New York Times editor and author Dan Saltzstein delves into what makes a story a “New York story.”

Throughout the book, Saltzstein combs through hundreds of examples, writing that New York City seems to operate within its own distinct realm, often diverging from the conventional reality observed elsewhere.

“Everything is amped up—yet for those who live there, moments that seem almost surreal are treated as normal,” Saltzstein wrote.

Through "That’s So New York," Saltzstein celebrates the city's spirit and also offers readers insight into what defines a quintessential "New York" story.
