New York Fashion Week has returned, and one industry expert on Monday provided the inside scoop on the latest trends, how New Yorkers can get on board and more.

Glamour editor-in-chief Samantha Barry joined "Mornings On 1," highlighting New York's unique ability to showcase both established and emerging designers.

"There's something really special about New York compared to the others for me because it, in the Fashion Week calendar, is the one that really, truly does bring together these established designers that we've known for many, many years and many, many decades, and really upcoming designers," Barry said.

She also noted that trends don't always cycle out quickly, and one is back on the catwalks for another season.

"One thing that's not gone away is this pop of red that you're seeing, you saw it in last season. You're seeing it not only on the people sitting front row, there's red socks, red tights, you're still seeing that on the catwalk," she said.

Barry added that New Yorkers and fashion enthusiasts alike can easily embrace this continuing trend through accessories.

"You don't change your whole wardrobe. You can get on board with what's happening on the catwalk with this one change," she said.
