Monday marks the fourth day of the agreed-upon ceasefire in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war and with a deadline looming, Deputy and Acting Consul General of Israel in New York Aviv Ezra joined “Mornings On 1” to discuss what may come next.
The initial deal mandated a four-day pause, concluding Monday, with the release of several Israeli hostages by Hamas.
Hamas has said it would seek to extend the deal by looking to release a larger number of hostages.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement saying he had spoken to President Joe Biden and reiterated his offer to extend the cease-fire by an additional day for every 10 hostages Hamas releases.
