Federal regulators and 17 states, including New York, filed a blockbuster antitrust lawsuit against Amazon on Tuesday.

Regulators claimed the company operates as a monopoly over sellers on its website and accused Amazon of penalizing sellers who list items cheaper on other sites.

The Federal Trade Commission is asking the court to issue a permanent injunction to stop Amazon from engaging in unlawful conduct to restore competition.

Wall Street Journal Amazon beat reporter Dana Mattioli, who also wrote the upcoming book “The Everything War: Amazon’s Ruthless Quest to Own the World and Remake Corporate Power,” joined “Mornings On 1” Wednesday to discuss the suit.
