In his new book, “American Ramble: A Walk of Memory and Renewal,” author Neil King Jr. reflects on a 330-mile walk he took from Washington, D.C., to New York City.

The story is one that may be familiar, as King spoke to NY1 two years ago after completing his walk from D.C. and prepared to cross New York Harbor into Manhattan.

At the time, the formal Wall Street Journal reporter said he had gathered enough material on his adventure to write a book – and that idea has come to fruition.

King joined “Mornings On 1” Friday to discuss what he called a “slow stroll down a fast lane.”
