For almost 30 years, Richard Brown served the people of Queens as their District Attorney. In two weeks, they'll head to the polls to choose his successor. Seven people are running to be Queens DA and they all debated on NY1 Tuesday night. In the coming days, they'll all appear on "Mornings on 1" to discuss their platforms.
Thursday morning, Democratic candidate Betty Lugo joined Pat Kiernan in the studio to chat about Brown's legacy, the future of the role, her moderate views, bail reform, and more.
When asked what single issue motivated her to enter the race, Lugo answered, "Justice."
