1. Manhattan DA probes bribery within Adams administration
Ingrid Lewis-Martin, the mayor’s right-hand woman and a close confidante for many decades, is the latest Adams official to catch the eye of authorities. Her home raided last month and NY1 was the only one on the scene.
NY1 has now learned a search warrant executed against Lewis-Martin last month, when her phone was seized by the district attorney’s office, said it was investigating whether at least five crimes were committed — including bribery, falsifying business records, offering a false instrument for filing and money laundering.
2. New Yorkers provide relief to areas impacted by Hurricanes Milton and Helene
Dogs emerged out of vans in front of Best Friends Animal Society after a 14-hour drive. They were among 10 dogs saved from Pinellas County, Florida, where a shelter near Clearwater lost power and flooded from Hurricane Milton.
Best Friends Animal Society in Manhattan organized the transfer to get the dogs and 20 cats from different counties in Georgia impacted by Hurricane Helene.
3. Gerrit Cole tosses playoff gem, shutting down Royals and sending Yankees back to ALCS with 3-1 win

New York will play Cleveland or Detroit of the ALCS starting Monday night at Yankee Stadium.
