1. Many gather for Broadway Celebrates Juneteenth in Times Square

Times Square was packed with an enthusiastic audience and music for Broadway Celebrates Juneteenth on Sunday.

Brian Anthony Moreland has been at the helm of the celebration since it started three years ago, when Juneteenth became a federal holiday.

“It’s grace personified because everyone is gathering now to celebrate Juneteenth to think about what it means to be free, what it means for everybody every person to be free,” Moreland said.

2. Man dies after being found with stab wounds on 4 train in Manhattan, police say

Police are investigating a deadly stabbing after a man was found injured on a southbound 4 train at the 14th Street Union Square station in Manhattan.

Another passenger on the train alerted the conductor that the victim was partially unconscious, police say.

3. Over 5,000 ballots on first day of early voting

There were a total of 5,613 votes counted in New York City for the first day of early voting in the primary election Saturday.

According to the city’s Board of Elections, Queens had the largest turnout with 1,689 early votes, followed by Brooklyn with 1,473, Manhattan with 1,468 and the Bronx with 983. Staten Island had no elections.
