Last month, Housing Works made history, opening the state's first recreational marijuana dispensary.

Housing Works was one of eight nonprofits that were issued first-round cannabis licenses in 2022.

Another one of those nonprofits was the Center for Community Alternatives, which intends to collaborate with a dispensary to provide employment opportunities to those who previously faced cannabis charges.
