Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick and his family thought they found “heaven” when they moved to a home in Pacific Palisades. Now, that heaven is just a memory after January’s destructive wildfire.
Since the fire, Redick has been displaying his leadership skills both on and off the court. The first-year coach is trying to balance Lakers title aspirations while also trying to help rebuild the Palisades.
Despite living in the Palisades for just a short time, Redick and his family have developed a strong bond within the community.
LA Times Lakers writer Dan Woike recently returned to the Palisades with an emotional Redick. Woike spoke about the experience, and Redick’s desire to rebuild his local rec center, with Spectrum News' Kelvin Washington on "LA Times Today."
