New York Assemblywoman Maritza Davila (D-53) says her 10-year old self always had big dreams and would be surprised to see her now.

In her Know Your Electeds interview, Davila talks about why she loves being a legislator. Namely, it allow her to do "what I've had a passion for my entire life...helping people." She also describes how her background in organizing informs her legislative and budget work. 

Davila has represented New York's 53rd Assembly District since 2013. When asked what her hidden talent is, she said "probably karaoke night."
