The City University of New York is marking a comeback.

The chancellor delivered his annual “State of the University” address earlier Wednesday, announcing great strides in the school’s recovery from the pandemic. That includes an increase in enrollment by 3%.

Part of that increase was driven by more students enrolling in CUNY’s community colleges, which were hardest hit by the pandemic.

The chancellor also detailed plans to transform the CUNY School of Medicine into an independent college and creating a roadmap for career success for CUNY students.

CUNY Chancellor Félix Matos Rodríguez joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Wednesday to discuss the highlights.
