President Joe Biden met with Donald Trump in the Oval Office to discuss how the two leaders can have a “smooth transition.”
This, as Trump has been busy building out his administration, including naming a new border czar — Tom Homan, the former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement from 2017 to 2018.
Homan is expected to enact Trump’s agenda when it comes to the border.
Trump has promised on the campaign trail mass deportation of undocumented immigrants, the closure of the southern border, ending birthright citizenship and more.
Lee Gelernt, the deputy director of the American Civil Liberties Union Immigrants’ Rights Project, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Wednesday to discuss more.
He has previously led challenges to some of Trump’s immigration policies during his first term in office.
