Former City Comptroller Scott Stringer continued his calls for the mayor to resign following Adams’ indictment on federal corruption charges. On “Inside City Hall” Thursday, Stringer described the current environment with multiple administration officials resigning as a “rolling crime scene,” and like nothing he’s seen in 30 years of politics.
Stringer also provided an update on fundraising numbers for his expected mayoral run. He said that his exploratory committee had raised $2.1 million as of last filing, with thousands of donors, and would “significantly add to that” when official numbers are released Friday.
Stringer said he believes there eventually will be a resignation and, in the event of a special election that would follow, New Yorkers would want “someone with a vision, who is committed to good government, to cleaning up what happened in our agencies, and somebody who can get the city to think big again.”
